The Eye of the World:
The Wheel of Time Graphic Novel Volume Two
by Robert Jordan, Chuck Dixon, Andie Tong
TOR, $24.99; 176pp
Release Date: June 19, 2012

I admit right now I did not read the Wheel of time series so I cannot tell you where this story falls within the books.

The synopsis at the beginning tells us that spring didn’t begin on time and that monsters are abroad in the land. The village of Emond ’s Field has been destroyed and our heroes are fleeing for their lives.

We pick up with a Draghkar chasing them down. During the chase the four youngsters find they may be more than they realize. Training and chase become their lives as they flee from the creatures and toward a future none of them expect.

The artwork is wonderful, the story engrossing, and the names will tangle your tongue twice. As I said I didn’t read the books so I can’t tell how well it follows but it is a great story by itself.

Very Highly Recommended. I’m looking forward to the next volume. ~~ Bob LaPierre
