The Glorkian Warrior and the Mustache of Destiny
by James Kolchaka
First Second, $14.99, 125pp
Published: March 2016

A very cute graphic novel about a grownup Glorkian Warrior and several children who want to be warrior-in-training.

Glorkian Warrior and his Super Backpack do not like children.  However, through this adventure, they learn to get along and Super Grandma comes down and gives them all a reward.  (Hint: Yes, there is a mustache involved!)

Glorkian Warrior has a tendency to fall into big holes.  Luckily he has Super Backpack to help him get out of his mistakes.  In one of these holes, he and the children meet up with Quackaboodle, a crazy space god who has been stuck in the hole for a thousand years.  Quackaboodle ambushes Glorkian Warrior and steals Super Backpack.  Can Glorkian Warrior and the children team up and save him?

According to the author’s note in the back, the Glorkian Warrior books come from bedtime stories that James Kochalka told to his boys.  ~~ Marie Davis
